Thrillers and Crime
Hello! It’s been a busy month since our last newsletter. As well as singing in the Sheldonian Theatre in Oxford (Margarita), we managed a weekend in Wales where we took Steve’s mum into Cardiff to see the stage production of War Horse for her 90th birthday.
Here are some pictures from Cardiff Bay showing the stunning Millennium Building, Pierhead House, and the Norwegian church that Roald Dahl attended as a child.
The dark evenings are here, and Hallowe’en reminds us of the time we went to the Whitby Goth Weekend to research Days Like Shadows Pass, book five in the DCI Tom Raven series. We dressed in our best Goth outfits and had the most fun ever researching a book.
Well that’s summer over. Looking out of the window as we write this, it’s wet and windy! Still, September always feels like a fresh start, even though our lives are no longer dominated by school terms. Yoga classes and choir rehearsals are re-starting, and we’re busy finishing one project and thinking about the next.Continue Reading
It’s now nearly the end of July and we’re recently back from a two-week trip to Pembrokeshire. While the rest of the UK was basking (or should that be wilting?) in the heatwave, the far south-west of Wales was a manageable 18-20 degrees Celsius. In fact, some days on the coast were so breezy we had to wrap up! It was great to catch up with some of Steve’s family and to explore this stunning part of Britain.
